Mr. Volodin called for a ban on palm oil in baby products

“The use of palm oil in all baby products should be banned, and its use in other products should be limited.” State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin stated this during a plenary session.

“Palm oil should be banned in all baby products, and restrictions on other products should be put up for discussion so that it is open, transparent, and understandable to everyone. Because no one knows what kind of palm oil is being imported, or what quality it is, because there is a huge range of quality. Some are harmful, and they should not be imported,” Volodin said. He emphasized that “all political factions are united in the need for such measures.”

“Everyone believes it’s necessary to appeal to the Prime Minister to bring order to this area and, I emphasize again, ban the use of palm oil in baby food, baby products, confectionery, and milk. And we need to sort out the remaining issues and try to find our own domestically produced Russian products that were the foundation,” he noted.
