– The State Duma adopted it immediately in the second and third readings. As usual, unanimously.
– Since the adoption of government amendments to the second reading, the document has not changed.
This means that the following words will be considered organic labeling:
– “biodynamic”;
– “biological”;
– “ecological”;
– “ecologically pure”;
– “green”;
– all words and abbreviations that are similar in meaning;
– as well as the prefixes “eco-” and “bio-”.
The exceptions also remain the same:
– for the designation “bio-” – for products where it is allowed by TR standards;
– for the word “green” – if it means the color or degree of ripening of the product;
– for the phrase “green standard” – for products with improved characteristics.
The law will come into force on September 1, 2024. It must still be approved by the Federation Council and signed by the president, but this is just a formality.
