Sucralose lowers immunity


This conclusion was reached by an international group of scientists who studied the effect of a well-known sweetener on the body. Previously, such substances were considered practically harmless and allowed to replace sugar in various diets. However, recently there have been several studies that have proven the harm of some of these products – their use led to the development of diabetes and cancer.

Experts conducted a series of experiments on laboratory mice. For 12 weeks, they were fed a supposedly safe amount of sucralose and observed for changes in the organisms. As a result, a significant decrease in immunity was revealed. It was expressed in the fact that the activation of two types of T-cells (the same “memory” of immunity) in response to the threat was much slower, and the rate of their division was low.

As a result of long-term use of sucralose, animals became more vulnerable to bacterial infections. The ability of their immune system to resist cancer has also declined. True, a positive effect was also revealed in parallel – the likelihood of developing autoimmune disorders that develop with excessive activity of one’s own immunity also fell.
