Amino acid export ban

The government approved a draft order of the Ministry of Agriculture to ban the export of amino acids from Russia for a period of six months. The temporary export ban is effective from 1 July.

According to the study, feed lysine is produced in Russia by “Аминосиб” and “Завод премиксов №1″ (total capacity 120,000 tons). At the same time, due to the zero import duties for lysine in Russia, the volume of imports for the first half of 2022 amounted to about 40.9 thousand tons, which already exceeds the volume of imports for the entire 2021.

In connection with the above, domestic producers are forced to sell products within the country at prices below cost. An analysis of the status of imports, production and consumption of amino acids would make it possible to rationally assess the situation and strengthen the positions of Russian producers.
