Plant milk for children

Nestlé has expanded its SMA Nutrition line of products with the launch of plant-based milk for babies aged one to three years.

The new drink is called Plantygrow Growing Up Drink. It is not an alternative to formula or breast milk, but is intended to support a balanced diet.

Nestlé said the new plant-based baby milk is “a great choice for parents who want to diversify their child’s diet.” The drink does not contain sugar and is considered a good source of vitamins A, C, B2 and B12, as well as iron. It is enriched with iodine, omega-3 and omega-6, contains calcium and vitamin D. Its base ingredients are wheat, oats, barley, rye and corn.
